Just a thought - As far as I can gather, Kiva.org started in April/May last year. On November 21st, loans had reached $1 millon. $2 million were reached on December 30th, 2006. February 22nd, 2007: $3 million. Interesting that it took longer between the 2nd and 3d million. We should reach $4 million in the next few weeks. How high do you think it'll go this year? $10 million, $20 million, more ?? I think I'm right in stating that Grameen has lent $6 billion since they started 30 years ago. Since that money has been relent throughout the years, I wonder how much capital it really is that keeps getting recycled.
Cool thoughts Ari. How long till we reach signficant proportions of GDPs of countries?
So someone contacted me to help him raise funds for a school in Africa, he seems like a really cool person who returned to his home country to help out.
I pointed him to a site where he can post his request, but he needs to get 99 'votes' that say its a good project worth funding.
If you have a minute could you please check it out and vote? You don't have to pledge.
thanks,
Julia

Good thing you got outa Arizona when you did. It got cool and windy and rainy today, kinda like Spokane.
it's so quiet around here! where is everyone? made any fun loans recently? my most recent one was to Raisa Clipa in Moldova. I wanted to make that a link to her kiva profile but don't know how to make hyperlinks :/ hope you're having a fun weekend!
I'll be back Monday. Don't know where everyone else is. Meanwhile, check out www.kivafriends.org
It's a brand new site, just went up this weekend. I registered today. Think it might be the perfect place to set up our KIGsters Forum.
