Little Known Facts About Iceland

Not too many people know there is a giant extinct volcano in Iceland. If you go down through the crater you can actually descend to the middle of the earth! This is true. I saw it in a movie.

The journey was most famously attempted in 1959 by clean cut pop singer Pat Boone and his actor friend James Mason. James was preparing for the role of Humbert Humbert in Lolita at the time and just needed to get away. Pat was a famous explorer in his spare time. Oh, and he brought his pet duck.

Interestingly, while in the center of the earth they encountered the Lost City of Atlantis as well as dangerous dinosaurs, cavemen and a gigantic sunlit sea!

I was thinking, if the Kiva Investment Group decides on Reykjavik for its next meeting, this could be an outing for us. What think?

Paula, you've got to learn that not every country automatically brings out the pie when you walk through customs. It would be nice if they did.
I checked the footage from the Boone-Mason expedition and noticed on the Atlantis town gate there was a sign that said "Cream Teas - 25p", so we might be able to get pie while we're there. If not, definitely scones.

Ari, to break character for a minute - that's what Americans call a tall tale - an outlandish, ridiculous story told with a perfectly straight face. I've never been able to quite bring it off, but I keep trying. Those were the lead actors in the 1959 film, "Journey To The Center of the Earth" - as you guessed.
