Mad Muslims

And, while I'm in the mood to praise other bloggers -- may I recommend Larry Livermore today. The man expresses his thoughts with clarity and insight, and since his insights on the riots in Syria coincide exactly with mine, I say go read Mad Muslims. Just come back here when you're done.

OK. I came back. I also brought a note that I received from a college fella in Iran that has written me comments in the past. I comment back and he says what he can. He's anonymous because, well, he needs to be.

I think, Mr. Pig, about how free you were in your decade and how obnoxious I was a decade later and how now this soul is stifled in a place that could stand the free and the obnoxious and a million other things that they won't give him and we can't possibly give to him.

I asked him about his perceptions of politics and how and what he can hear living in Tehran. He was, evidently, honest and as free speaking as he could be. Enough words from me:

Hello Dear Mr. Sadorf

First of all I must apologize to not answer to your mail on time, I was in my final exams, and now I hope with help of god I graduate from university. I'm not political at all also I hate it because it's all about lying to people. I know the image that western press shows you about Iran, because I see CNN & BBC & I read Internet but that's not all about us they show mostly our bad part. I don't vote for the new gov & I don't like them at all, I think they are liar to just like your G.W.Bush ,

I hate war, I wish never see it again I rise up during Iran-Iraq war. I think you can guess

What I think and my point of view about your Q.

They filtered my web site here in Iran for about 5 monts, some Persian bloggers are in prison for what they write in their blogs, you know. I cant talk as freely as you talked about your gov ;)

I wish you and your family all do well in Arizona , can I ask you whats our job? & please feel free to ask me any thing I really enjoy mailing to you.

Khodahafez (in Persian BYE)

Funny - I was just thinking about this today. One of Jesus' big points was about getting the log out of your own eye before you start trying to get the speck out of somebody else's.
I thought of all those screamers in front of the embassies and thought, "what do I know about their hearts and minds and desparatenesses and why they can go scream at the fence instead of being at work to feed their family. What do I know about their lives? Not one thing."
Sorry Jesus - doing that judging thing again.
Thanks Leo.
