Harold Pinter

British playwright Harold Pinter won the Nobel Prize in Literature this year and a video of his "Nobel lecture" is posted here. Pinter's point of view on what has happened to America since the Reagan administration is both riveting and devastating. Trust your pondering pig.

But if you don't think you really have time to watch the whole 45 minute lecture, Stone Bridge has provided a public service by posting extensive excerpts from his lecture here.

Glad you mentioned it. The Guardian published his speech in its entirety the day after he delivered it and we read it on the plane heading back to the USA. I've only heard one excerpt on the radio since. It's much too important to be buried under the piles of yesterday's papers.
